Gilbert, Arizona – Gilbert’s long-awaited mixed-use development, Verde at Cooley Station, is finally springing forth at the southwest corner of E. Williams Field Road and S. Recker Road. Verde is located within the 650-acre Cooley Station master-planned community that provides single-family housing, multi-family residential options, commercial space and a transit station for a future commuter rail line which will speed East Valley commuters to Phoenix. Verde will be the centerpiece of Cooley Station encompassing almost 150,000 square feet of commercial space and 450 multi-family residential units.

“Verde will be a gathering place for the community. In addition to offices, retail, and restaurants, Verde will be loaded with unique wall graphics, large scale sculpture in the public spaces, a children’s play area and a programmed performance venue hosting a myriad of events,” said Norman Brody, a Managing Member of SB2-VB, LLC, the developer. The design of Verde at Cooley Station incorporates new and innovative building materials, systems, technology, and architectural expressions.

The first restaurants to commit to Verde, include the trendy Japanese restaurant, OBON with its unique experience in Asian dining and casual atmosphere, along with the Valley’s very own West Alley BBQ, which will bring its Tennessee-style open-pit slow-cooked meats and live entertainment, and the tasty ice cream creations of Cookies & Cream!

Verde at Cooley Station’s groundbreaking ceremony is set to kick-off the first phase of construction for the 23-acre project. The ceremony will include a welcoming speech by Gilbert Mayor, Jenn Daniels, a featured wall showcasing design plans, and a #VeryVerde giveaway for attending neighbors and guests.

When & Where: Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 1:15 pm. Located at the Southwest corner of E. Williams Field Road and S. Recker Road.

SB2-VB, LLC, an Arizona-based international development group comprised of experienced commercial and residential real estate interests from the United States and Mexico.

Verde at Cooley Station will include the Verde Medical Center, being developed by Sina Companies, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, with leasing by The Plaza Companies, Phoenix. Fitness and healthy living are two important tenets of Verde. Guests at the restaurants of Verde will enjoy unique experiences while they dine on the outdoor patios surrounding The Green’s, regular community events and activities. Within a quarter-mile of Verde at Cooley Station more than 2,000 apartments and 1,000 single-family homes are under development. The trade area has more than 215,000 people. Nearby is the ASU Polytechnic campus, the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and the recently announced Sky Bridge development, the Country’s first joint US-Mexico customs inspection facility, which upon build-out will contain up to 4 million square feet of commercial space employing thousands.

The Verde at Cooley Station land is a staple to the Gilbert community. For more than 90 years, four generations of the Cooley family have been farming in the region. The Cooley family’s road to the Southeast Valley began in 1919 where they started a legacy of farming cotton, alfalfa, and grain, in addition to operating a small dairy. Each successive generation of the Cooley Family has watched and contributed as the Gilbert landscape has grown from a sleepy agricultural town to a prosperous and ever-expanding community.

Restaurant, retail, office and health/wellness tenant announcements will be shared across the project’s social media platforms. Work on the first phase of the development will carry on through the new year with an expected open in late 2020.
